Goal

A prediction game for everyday fans.

Build a social-first platform where users could challenge friends, join betting pools, and track their performance — guided by AI-powered match insights. Premium and trustworthy, yet fun and accessible to users who may have never placed a bet before.

Challenge

Data-rich, emotionally simple.

Sports betting apps are typically built for experienced bettors, with dense data and intimidating interfaces. Nostradamus Tips had to serve casual fans, competitive friend groups and serious predictors — without overwhelming any of them.

Outcome

79 screens, one coherent product.

A cohesive dark-themed interface built around the iconic Nostradamus mascot, with a design system that scales across complex betting flows while keeping the experience intuitive and social at its core.

01 · Discovery & Research

Understanding who we were designing for.

Stakeholder interviews and a competitive audit of apps like Sorare, FanTeam and SuperDraft defined three distinct user personas that shaped every design decision that followed — from the complexity of the bet flow to the tone of the empty states.

The Social Challenger

24 years old

Plays primarily to compete with friends. Motivated by bragging rights, not money. Wants a fun, quick experience.

Goals

  • Beat my mates each week
  • Quick bets in under 30s
  • Group chat banter built in

Frustrations

  • Apps feel like casinos
  • Lonely solo flows
  • Confusing odds

The Strategist

31 years old

Digs into match data, follows specific leagues, and builds accumulator bets. Wants depth and control.

Goals

  • Detailed match data
  • Build accumulator chains
  • Track long-term performance

Frustrations

  • Shallow stat surfaces
  • Clunky multi-bet flows
  • No serious leaderboards

The Casual Fan

27 years old

Watches football on weekends, wants a low-stakes way to make matches more exciting. Needs strong guidance and onboarding.

Goals

  • Make matches more fun
  • Low-stakes entry
  • Clear in-line explanations

Frustrations

  • Industry jargon
  • Empty / cold screens
  • Fear of losing too much

Key research findings

  • Users distrust apps that feel "casino-like" — visual design directly impacted perceived legitimacy.
  • Social features (pools, friend challenges) were the strongest motivator for continued use.
  • New users abandoned bet flows when odds and terminology weren't explained inline.
  • A daily reward mechanism dramatically improved return-visit rates in competitor apps.
02 · Onboarding & Auth

Get users in fast.
Hook them immediately.

The splash screen anchors the brand — the Nostradamus mascot on a deep blue gradient, wordmark in signature orange. Login is two taps. The onboarding carousel introduces the AI prediction concept in plain, punchy language — supported by a playful robot illustration. Smart, but fun.

03 · The Dashboard

A home that shows everything,
overwhelms nothing.

Four icon shortcuts give power users instant access. A full-width Featured Competition banner brings emotional excitement front and center. Below, Nostradamus Leagues lists upcoming matches for quick scanning. The bottom nav follows a 4+1 structure with a Bet FAB always one tap away.

Main dashboard
  1. 1

Quick-access shortcuts — Leaderboards, Challenge, Match Data, Bonus surfaced as icon buttons.

  2. 2

Editorial match banner — high-impact photography of the featured competition, not a form.

  3. 3

Live league listings — scannable match cards with team logos, time and date.

  4. 4

Always-accessible Bet CTA — a central FAB in the bottom nav, one tap from anywhere.

04 · Betting Flows

Making complex predictions feel like a game.

Four bet types open as bottom-sheet modals over the match context. Stepper controls are optimised for one-handed use. Accumulators stack as a card pile that folds neatly into a summary bar. Plain English throughout — no jargon, no decimal odds unless expanded.

Mode 01

Score Bet

Predict the exact final score with one-handed stepper controls.

Mode 02

Additional Bets

First goalscorer, both teams to score, half-time leader and more.

Mode 03

Accumulator

Chain multiple predictions across matches for bigger rewards.

Mode 04

Pool Bet

Place group bets with friends or join public pools tied to real leagues.

The Accumulator — designed as a stack.

A step-by-step card stack where each completed prediction folds into a summary bar. The growing bet stays visible without taking over the screen.

05 · Pools — The Social Core

Betting is more fun together.

Create private pools with friends, or join public pools tied to real competitions like the Paris Champions League. Each step lives on its own screen to reduce cognitive load. Browse available pools as cards — league, entry fee, members, upcoming match. One tap to join.

06 · Leaderboards & Rewards

A reason to come back every single day.

The Leaderboard pins the user's rank at the top in brand navy. Circular win-percentage chips add competitive context without clutter. Filters switch between General, Friend and Public Pool rankings. The Daily Bonus modal — countdown + one-tap Claim — rewards the habit of opening the app.

07 · Friends & Social Graph

The glue that keeps the community alive.

Search for players, send requests, view profiles with win stats. The lightweight Chat keeps the trash-talk inside the app — tied directly to bet activity. Empty states use warm, encouraging copy with a prominent "Find Friends" CTA to nudge new users into the social layer.

Friend challenges

Direct head-to-heads with friends — pick a match, agree the stake, settle automatically when the result is in.

My Pool — your live competitions
